I’m Shawn Phillips, holistic personal trainer, nutrition coach, and founder of Perfect Body, Inc. in Los Angeles. My Journey

From Finance to Fitness – A Personal Transformation

I was living the high-stakes life of a financial advisor at Smith Barney, after graduating with honors from UCLA in Economics and Philosophy. I even modeled for Ford Modeling Agency and worked as an institutional broker at Merrill Lynch. But behind the success, my health was crumbling. Severe fatigue, insomnia, and lethargy took over, leading to diagnoses of adrenal dysfunction, chronic fatigue syndrome, and eventually Lyme Disease.

 

It was a wake-up call. During my recovery, I immersed myself in books on nutrition, supplements, spirituality, and bodybuilding. I discovered that true health isn’t just about hitting the gym—it’s about healing from the inside out. This realization sparked my passion for fitness, and I made the bold decision to leave finance behind. Why? Because I wanted to make a real difference, especially for busy people like you who battle stress, hormonal imbalances, weight gain, depression, anxiety, or low energy.

 

Today, after rigorous treatments and ongoing health monitoring, I feel like a new person. My experiences allow me to empathize deeply with clients facing similar challenges. You can push harder and get nowhere. That is not failure. That is biology.

 

This is why I take a fundamentally different approach. Before we ever discuss a workout plan, we look at what is actually happening inside your body. We address the root causes, not just the symptoms. Weight loss becomes a natural outcome of a body that is finally functioning the way it was designed to.
